Solution-Soft Joins Cadence Connections Program
Membership in Cadence Connections program extends open interoperability
SANTA CLARA, Calif., January 27, 2006 — SolutionSoft Systems Inc, a leading provider of Intelligent Data Optimization (IDO) solutions announced that it has joined the Cadence Design Systems, Inc. Connections® program and will be integrating its mezip™ & gdzip™ design file compression technology along with it’s new compressor DLL [Dynamic Link Library] module into the Cadence simulation, and verification environments. The Cadence Connections program offers the industry's largest collection of third-party solutions operating fully with the Cadence suite of design tools. Solution-Soft’s partnership with Cadence through membership in the Connections program will allow mutual customers to easily facilitate the management of their design files and reduce their tape-out cycle.
Solution-Soft’s gdzip and mezip delivers never before seen compression levels for the GDSII and MEBES file formats used in the semiconductor development process. These file formats are the most common used for electron beam lithography and photo-mask production and are the standard exchange format between the design world and the mask shops. Typically the large GDSII and MEBES file sizes have created challenges for file transfer, manipulation and storage.
With these applications Solution-Soft has been able to alleviate these problems for their many customers and has recently introduced a DLL extension for these that provide transparent in-line decompression of GDSII and MEBES files with any EDA tool. As a result, EDA tools can access and view those compressed files directly and leave them compressed on disk.
"Solution-Soft is thoroughly pleased with our invitation to join the Cadence Connections program," said Paul Wang, CTO at Solution-Soft. “This will allow are two companies to expand the benefits of our respective solutions for our mutual customers by integrating them even further”.
The Cadence Connections program promotes open interoperability in all areas of electronic design, including digital, custom IC, analog/mixed-signal, and PCB design. The Connections program has over 120 member companies working toward developing an optimized silicon design chain for customers. Information about the Connections program may be found at
